Here are 3 questions that you should be asking a realtor before deciding to work with them. Hi my name is Mac Rogers, broker/owner of Albert Rogers Realty here in Castro Valley, CA.

For me the number one question that you should be asking a realtor is this; What is it that you do differently? You know anyone can show you a property or send you listing alerts or do open houses. But what do you do when your buyer’s offer is not accepted or how do you market a sellers property in a changing market like what we have right now?

Second important question to ask is; how long have you been in the business? It’s important to know that your realtor have been through the ups and down of the market and knows how to handle it. If an agent has only seen an up market, how would they fare in a flat or down market?

Number three should be a no brainer. Ask for their reviews and references. Find out what buyers and sellers just like you is saying about him or her and see if you might want to work with them. You can also check them out at one of the following sites like Zillow, Redfin, realtor.com or any other sites that uses reviews.

These are just 3 questions that you can start a conversation with a prospective realtor. Obviously there are lot more questions that you can ask but with these 3 at least you can narrow down your search. If you would like to know my answer to 1 and 2 drop me a comment below and I will respond to you.

This is Mac Rogers of Albert Rogers Realty. Have a great day and I will see you at my next open house.
